01/06/25 Memo from Benefits – Helpful Reminders about the BCI Transition

The following memo from Benefits was sent out to all SPCs and some members of Human Resources on January 6, 2025 as helpful reminders to be posted in break rooms across our territory: https://benefits.wincofoods.com/wp-content/uploads/BCI-Transition-Memo-From-Benefits-January-2025.pdf

Member ID Cards

BCI medical ID cards will only come in the employee’s name, but they are for all covered members to use. BCI by default issues two cards per household.  To order additional cards for students or other family members, request them directly from BCI by calling 800-937-8063. Existing members’ cards should have arrived in December; if you did not receive cards, please call BCI at 800-937-8063.

Member Portal / Website

Starting January 1, 2025, WinCo health plan members may log in to the new Blue Cross of Idaho (BCI) member website!

On January 1, health plan members gain access to BCI’s member portal, located at members.bcidaho.com. You can also get there via benefits.wincofoods.com, where you go to access all carrier contact information, website links and important plan documents. To get oriented to the new website, check out this BCI Member Website In-Depth Overview on YouTube. The five-minute video covers your customized dashboard, how to locate and review claims information, explanations of benefits (EOBs), coverage information, and more!

To explore the portal yourself, from members.bcidaho.com, select the Register button and provide the requested information. If you have questions about anything you see out on the BCI portal, you can reach out to a BCI customer service representative at 800-937-8063.

Maybe you don’t like watching videos, but would really get into a cool .pdf about the Member website? No sweat. Check it out, right here!

Important Reminders

SHOW OFF YOUR NEW ID CARD – At your first medical provider appointment in 2025, be sure to show your health care provider your fancy new BCI ID card.

Prescription and Dental cards are not being reissued this year. If you need replacement cards, please visit https://benefits.wincofoods.com/contacts-links/ to locate the customer service number for these vendors.

NO NEW RX CARDS – Need a Prescription? WinCo’s Pharmacy Benefits Manager is WellDyne, and that is NOT changing for 2025. Use the WellDyne Rx card (and not your BCI Member ID card) when you need to get a prescription filled at a WellDyne network pharmacy (Walgreen’s, CVS, Rite-aid).

NO NEW DENTAL CARDS – Need Dental care? Use your Delta Dental ID Card, not your BCI Member ID card.
